Enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a second verification step and reduces the risk of account compromise.

Important scope note

SiteForge services can use separate 2FA setups. You may need to enable 2FA separately for:

  • SiteForge Account,
  • Hosting Panel,
  • webmail,
  • Cloud Workspace.

Typical setup flow

  1. Log in to the target service.
  2. Open Security Settings.
  3. Start Two-Factor Authentication setup.
  4. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app.
  5. Enter a valid code to confirm activation.
  6. Save backup codes in a secure location.
  • Log out and log in again to confirm 2FA prompt appears.
  • Verify backup codes are readable and stored safely.
  • Confirm account recovery options are current.

Common issues

  • Time mismatch on phone: enable automatic time sync.
  • Lost device: use backup codes or account recovery flow.
  • Wrong service: ensure you enabled 2FA in the correct panel.
